Hollywood (NBp) - According to Invented Stats Inc., the top grossing movies over the Labor Day holiday weekend were:

  1. The Six Cents $22.2 million - Bruce Willis stars as a man out for revenge after being short changed at a convenience store. Audiences have been going back repeatedly because of the surprise ending (***warning, spoilers ahead***) in which Willis gets his money back.
  2. The 13th Mario $10.3 million - Antonio Banderas stars as the lovable Nintendo plumber in this followup to Super Mario Bros.
  3. Bowfinger $9.8 million - The latest in the popular James Bond series pits Bond against a supervillain who has a miniature bow built around his index finger and uses it to shoot tiny, poisoned arrows. It goes without saying that he intends to take over the world.
  4. Runway Bride $8.9 million - Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are reunited for the first time since Notting Hill in June. They play a pilot and steward, respectively, that get married over the plane's intercom system during landing.
  5. Tom Clown's Affair $6.6 million - Tom Arnold plays a clown who works at childrens' parties by day and tries, unsuccessfully, to meet women at night.
  6. Mikey's Blue Eyes $5.8 million - Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts are reunited for the first time since Runway Bride in July. Grant plays Mikey, the kid from the 80's cereal commercials, who tries to escape his fame.
  7. Grill Factor $5.5 million - In this sequel to The Big Chill, a group of adults get together and grill up some steaks on Labor Day.
  8. Dramamine $5.2 million - Though The Blair Witch Project grossed only $1.5 million this weekend, the popular motion sickness medication grossed more than $5 million from people going to see the shaky film.
  9. The Ruse $3.6 million - Critical favorite Albert Brooks tries to pull one over on moviegoers by creating a commercial success.
  10. The Astronaut's Pipe $3 million - An astronaut discovers that ventilation on the space craft is not very good after he starts smoking his favorite pipe and the other astronauts complain.
